Hoboken, New Jersey, 1954. You are a powerful leader of one of the largest criminal organizations in the city and you compete with your rival for territory and support, shying away from any means to expand your influence. District Noir is located in the center of Hoboken. Control over that neighborhood makes the big difference in seizing power over the entire city. In this tactical card game for 2 players you try to get the majority of different card types in order to score the most points. But you can also try to gain control of the city's 3 strategic locations. In that case you win immediately. The rules of the game are very simple. You get 5 cards. On your turn, you place a hand card in the row or you take the last 5 cards placed in the row. The other player always has the same choice. However, taking 5 cards is only allowed once per round. After that you always have to put a card in the row. The game continues until the face-down pile is empty and all cards have been played. Then the points are counted. You get points for having the most cards of a certain suit and for complete sets of different suits. There are also cards that immediately give plus or minus points. If you manage to acquire all 3 strategic locations, you win immediately and you do not have to count any points. District Noir is a very accessible card game for 2 players. The simple rules ensure that you get started playing quickly, but you will soon discover that the choices you have to make during the game are a lot more difficult!

Rugged terrain, few people, lots of game. An ideal environment for wolves. These pack animals seek out each other to hunt prey and reproduce. But not all packs interact peacefully. They all want power over the area and they will do anything for that. Wolves is a strategic game in which you lead your own pack of wolves. You try to claim territories, expand your pack, develop your pack's traits, build dens and hunt prey. All of those things provide benefits and victory points in different ways. Your turns are controlled by double-sided terrain tiles. Each turn you turn over a number of them depending on the chosen action. You may then perform an action on a space of that terrain, provided it is within range of your wolves. This way you can move your wolves, build shelters to improve the properties of your pack, or upgrade your shelters to dens. However, some actions can only be performed with your alpha wolves and unfortunately you don't have many of them. You score the most points by checking certain areas when the moon reaches a certain position. You need most of the pieces in such an area for this. Because there are only 2 playing pieces allowed per field, fierce competition arises between the different packs of players. Wolves is a very thematic and challenging board game. The interaction between the packs and the variable playing field ensure that you have to explore new strategies and possibilities time and again to win. The beautiful artwork and wooden wolves provide an intense gaming experience.

Beer & Bread is a multifunctional card game for two players. The clever structure of alternating rounds puts a fascinating twist on player interaction, card drafting and resource management. Founded on the fertile land of a former monastery, two villages have maintained the twin traditions of beer brewing and bread baking. While they share fields and resources, they still pride themselves on their friendly rivalry to outdo each other's products. Each of you represents one of these villages. Over the course of six years - which are alternately fertile and dry - you must harmonize your tasks: harvesting and storing raw materials, producing beer and bread, selling them for coins and upgrading your facilities. To win, however, you must maintain the balance between your baked and liquid goods. Because after the sixth year you only score the collected coins for the type of good - beer or bread - for which you earned less. The village with the highest score wins.
