Description

You are an amateur dracologist in the world of Wyrmspan, a place where dragons of all shapes, sizes and colors fly through the sky. Dig out a hidden labyrinth that you recently found on your estate and lure those beautiful creatures to settle in your caves. In Wyrmspan you build a sanctuary for dragons. Your shrine starts with a carmine lair, golden cavern and amethyst gorge. Over the course of the game you dig out additional fields and lure dragons to live there. Here's how to combine the powerful skills of your dragons and earn the favor of the dragon guild!

Wyrmspan is a challenging board game for people who like to build up their motor skills during a game and like great variety. The game is based on the well-known bird game Wingspan by Elizabeth Hargrave, who also contributed to this game. If you are a fan of Wingspan and are looking for even more of a challenge, you can find it in Wyrmspan. The large number of dragons and associated descriptions also make the game very attractive for fantasy enthusiasts!

In Wyrmspan you build a sanctuary for dragons. Your shrine starts with 3 excavated spaces, the 3 leftmost spaces of your carmine lair, golden cavern and amethyst gorge respectively. Over the course of the game you expand these 3 caves from left to right, first excavating empty spaces and then playing dragons on the excavated spaces.

Wyrmspan consists of 4 rounds. Each round, players perform 1 action clockwise. The players continue to perform actions until they decide to pass; this usually happens when a player has used all his coins or has no more dragons in his hand that he wants or can play. The players who have not passed continue playing until all players have passed. Then the round is over.

On your turn, you choose 1 action (dig, lure or explore) and place your adventurer there. You pay the cost in coins and/or eggs and perform the action. The winner of Wyrmspan is the player with the most victory points. You can earn these in various ways, including the value of played dragons, eggs, hidden cards, public objectives and the dragon guild.
