Root: The Homeland Expansion (ENG)

Description

Rediscover the Woodland with 3 brand-new factions and 2 new maps for Root.

Long dispersed and since oppressed, the Lilypad Diaspora hopes to finally call the Woodland home. While they attempt to integrate peacefully, peace is rare in the midst of a civil war. As they train their warriors, they must ensure that their desire for safety does not turn into open aggression. With weapons at the ready, a simple misunderstanding between the Diaspora and the Woodland can turn into brutal retaliation, hardening the Diaspora's fighting spirit and increasing resentment against their cause.

Tired of the ongoing struggle, the Twilight Council organizes meetings to end the war. They bring everyone in the Woodland together, from the humblest mouse-in-a-sack to the most powerful hawk with a royal claim. These meetings emphasize political connections rather than pure numbers of warriors, pushing factions away from bloody battles and towards heated debates.

No one knows exactly how the Knaves of the Deepwood, this band of rogues and scoundrels, came together, but the myths are numerous. From the treeline, they sally forth to raid barracks and baggage trains, taking warriors hostage. Why? For ransom, of course. Some say they give the proceeds to the needy. Others say they take liberally from it. Either way, their festive sounds echo deep into the night, from the forest depths where few dare to venture. And who can blame them for spreading a little cheer?

This is an expansion. You need a copy of the Root board game to play.
