Ticket to Ride Expansions
Ticket to Ride is a delightful and addictive family game. Chances are you'll soon be looking for expansions to this popular board game! Luckily, there are plenty of them. Ticket to Ride Asia adds mountain routes and on the other side of the board you can play the game with 6 players (in team mode). Ticket to Ride India adds round trips, where you get extra points if your route is completely round. Ticket to Ride Africa has many single routes that make train travel more difficult and the game contains special cards that allow you to double your score. Ticket to Ride Netherlands adds tolls to the game; you have to pay tolls to be the first to build a route and if someone wants to lie next to you, they have to pay tolls to you.
In Ticket to Ride UK/Pennsylvania, the United Kingdom adds technological advancement (industrial revolution), which means that some routes can only be built if you have the technology, and in Pennsylvania you have shares that you can earn for extra points if you have a majority. Ticket to Ride France/Old West adds striped routes that must be colored before you can build over them (France), and in Old West you can only build from your own cities. Ticket to Ride Japan/Italy adds a high-speed train to Japan, and in Italy you get ferries in the game. In Ticket to Ride Polska you have to try to make connections with your neighboring countries for extra points.
Which base game do you need?
Please note that not all standalone Ticket to Ride games are suitable for an expansion. The large expansions can be combined with the basic games Ticket to Ride Europe, Ticket to Ride Germany and Ticket to Ride USA. You need the train cards, trains and pawns of these games to be able to play the expansions. The other standalone versions cannot be used for an expansion.
1910 and 1912
And then you have the small expansions Ticket to Ride USA 1910 and Ticket to Ride Europa 1912. Ticket to Ride USA 1910 is an expansion for Ticket to Ride USA and adds new routes to the game. Ticket to Ride Europa 1912 is an expansion for Ticket to Ride Europa and adds 3 new variants and Warehouses and Depots (two new game elements for extra strategic options for all versions of Ticket to Ride).
