Cascadia is a puzzling tile-laying and token-drafting game about the habitats and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. In the game you take turns building your own terrain and populating it with wildlife. You start with three hexagonal habitat tiles (with five types of habitats in play) and on a turn you choose a new habitat tile linked to a nature token. Place the tile next to your other one and place the nature token on a suitable habitat. (Each tile shows 1-3 types of wildlife out of the five species in the game, and you can place up to one tile on a habitat.) There are four tiles in the display, with each tile randomly paired with a nature token, so you have to make the best of what's available - unless you have a nature token to spend so you can choose any item. The Games Friends: Cascadia is a real hit! It has the same ease as Calico, but we still find this game a lot more fun. Due to the different animal cards, there is sufficient variation in the game, which makes it something that is often on the table here. Highly recommended!
