Far south of The Last Ruin lies a clifftop village called The Monument. For generations it protected an ancient shrine until the day a crystal meteorite fell. The inhabitants of the meteor slowly crept into the world - bizarre monsters from a nightmare, attacking everyone in their path. As they spread across the land, there was no intelligent malice or grand invasion strategy; the creatures behaved like a fungus and sporadically spread into new territory. After many fruitless attempts to drive away the monsters, the people of The Monument fled as their village collapsed, banished to distant lands, resigned to a nomadic existence. Twenty years later, there are rumors that the bizarre monsters are becoming weak. They are slower, less impervious to attack, some undergo gradual petrification until they crumble into dust. Is it the atmosphere? Do they die of old age? Are they suffering from some strange disease? No one knows for sure, but as word spreads, various factions have their eyes on the vacant, ruined village of The Monument. The original villagers, now refugees, are desperate to return and rebuild. But they have to do it quickly, before someone else claims their home. This is their chance. It is now or never. In Now or Never, you and up to three friends compete to rebuild your ancestral village as best you can and guide the rest of the villagers on their journey home. Although the meteorite creatures have lost much of their power, many of them remain, and you must fight them to protect traveling villagers. Now or Never is the third game in the Arzium storybook series that includes Above and Below and Near and Far. Now or Never is a competitive strategy game that allows you to: Choose one of four asymmetrical characters to play. Rebuild the village so returning villagers have a place to live. You must carefully choose what and where to build to maintain an advantage and reap the greatest rewards for long-term planning. Collaborate with other players by hiring their specialists to perform special actions. Fight dangerous creatures to save villagers. Explore a fantasy landscape full of bizarre places, technology and peoples. Now or Never features two game modes: standard and story. When playing in story mode, you read from a storybook as you explore, make choices, and learn more about the characters and world. Each character has their own set of stories, unique to the locations they explore and diverse in plot, perspective and motif, allowing you to choose the direction your own story will take. Sleeping Gods: Primeval Peril is a short standalone campaign for one or two players, but will include a 3-4 player variant set in the world of Sleeping Gods and using the same rules. Primeval Peril is set on a dangerous river that meanders through lush jungle. It features new characters and stories, so none of the core Sleeping Gods gameplay is spoiled. It was first offered as a free print-and-play for all backers of the Sleeping Gods Kickstarter. This first retail edition has been revised and expanded with new stories and quests, streamlined gameplay, and an atlas with new maps.

Islebound: Emerald Edition is a special edition of the game with some modified components and rules. It is best viewed as a variant of the game, rather than a 2nd edition. Islebound: Emerald Edition Upgrade Pack was available for owners of the original edition. The metal coins and painted wooden ships were also available separately as Islebound: Emerald Edition Deluxe Components. This edition of Islebound removes the book resource from the original game and replaces it with emeralds. Emeralds have different uses than books. You collect them when visiting a player-controlled city and when you take over a city. Emeralds must be used to purchase building cards, and they can also be used to perform special abilities, such as retaining pirates and snakes after battles! The building deck has been adjusted to account for this resource change. It includes modified building cards from both the original game and some from the Metropolis expansion. There will be no building card expansion for Islebound: Emerald Edition, and the Metropolis expansion is not compatible with this version.
