Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor is a standalone game in the Forest Shuffle series and introduces a brand-new habitat with new species to discover, each offering unique abilities and bonuses. Just like in the original Forest Shuffle, players in Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor compete to create the most valuable environment by planting trees and shrubs and then attracting species to create an ecologically balanced habitat for flora and fauna. New in Dartmoor is the introduction of terrain cards, played horizontally, that serve as homes or feeding locations for species other than trees or shrubs. Due to the nature of the terrain, species can only be placed above or below a terrain card. Deer and other species stay away from bogs in the moorland. They need their water, but don't feel safe near springs or streams. Therefore, it's important for players to pay close attention to where they place their species. Like its predecessor, Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor has a unique back: any of the 180 cards in the deck can be placed face-down to create a swamp, if the action allows. The caves in Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor are now dealt at the beginning of the game, offering asymmetrical starting conditions. Furthermore, the number of tree symbols has been reduced from eight to six to make bonuses easier to obtain. The gameplay remains unchanged: At the start, each player has six cards in their hand. These cards show either a specific type of tree, shrub, or terrain, or two bog dwellers (animals or plants). These latter cards are divided into two halves (vertically or horizontally), each with a dweller on one half of the card. During a turn, you can either draw two cards—either from the draw pile face down or from the clearing face up—and add them to your hand, or play a card from your hand by discarding other cards to pay its cost, then placing the chosen card into play. Cruise ships used to sail past this long and now largely deserted island world. In the time in which the game Nusfjord is set, it looked very different. Sailing ships dominated the fjord. The rocks around Nusfjord are covered with trees. As the owner of a large fishing company in Nusfjord on the Lofoten archipelago, your goal is to develop the harbor and the surrounding landscape. To succeed, you must increase your fleet, clear the forest, build new buildings and satisfy the local elders. Of course, others do this too, so the competition is fierce. Similar to Agricola and Ora et Labora, Nusfjord has a worker placement mechanism, where each player starts with three workers who they place on a central board to activate certain actions. Whether a player wants to clear a forest on their own board, buy a new cutter, or build a building, they must place a worker in the correct space - which is only possible if there is room for that worker. Money is scarce, and one of the faster and easier ways to get it is to put shares of your own company on the market. In Ora et Labora (Latin for 'Pray and Work'), each player is the head of a monastery in the Middle Ages who acquires land and constructs buildings. They are, so to speak, small businesses that provide resources and profits. The goal is to build a working infrastructure and craft prestigious items - such as books, ceramics, ornaments and relics - to gain the most victory points at the end of the game. Ora et Labora, Uwe Rosenberg's fifth "major" game, has game mechanics similar to his Le Havre, such as two-sided resource cards that can be upgraded from a basic item to something more useful. Instead of adding resources to the board every turn as in Agricola and Le Havre, Ora et Labora uses a numbered rondel to show how much of each resource is available at any time. At the start of each round, players spin the rondel one segment, adjusting the counts of all resources at once. Each player has a personal game board. New buildings enter the game from time to time, and players can build them on their game boards with the building materials they collect, with some terrain restrictions on what can be built where. Some spaces start with trees or swamps on them, and these hinder development until a player clears the land, but they also provide resources when removed. Smart building on your personal game board will influence your final score, and players can purchase additional terrain during the game if necessary. Players also have three workers who can enter buildings to take the action associated with that location. Workers must remain in place until you have placed all three. You can enter your own buildings with these workers, but to enter and use another player's buildings you must pay that player an entrance fee so that he moves one of his workers into that building to do the work for you . Ora et Labora has two variants: France and Ireland.
