Built by the Ptolemies, this institution became a gathering place for students, writers, scholars, and librarians from diverse cultures. Ptolemy's ambition was to amass all the knowledge of the world. Housed countless manuscripts, the library reflected his Herculean endeavor to collect and preserve the intellectual heritage of antiquity, thereby bringing fame to his name. Located near Alexandria's bustling harbor, the library welcomed ships bringing artifacts, scholars, and wisdom from distant lands. The Chief Librarian played a key role in the vast halls of the Mouseion, which, in addition to the library, housed other centers of research and cultural exchange. He or she managed the organization of the vast collection, mentored students during their studies, and personally practiced the art of translating and preserving texts in various languages, with a particular emphasis on Greek. The rustle of ancient parchment whispered between the shelves, embodying the spirit of intellectual curiosity and intercultural exchange. You and your fellow minstrels meet at the Hungry Troubadour Tavern. There are plenty of vegetables to fill your empty belly as you sing for your dinner. A Bard Day's Night is a card game for 2-4 players with bidding, bluffing and singing songs. Players are bards who brainstorm their next performance for the bar patrons, while also filling their pockets with the vegetables the audience throws at them to express their “appreciation” for the performances. When a ballad is completed, players bid their food to claim different parts of the ballad. When the tavern closes for the night, those who performed the most popular themes will find a few coins coming their way in lieu of salad ingredients. The bard with the most coins wins! While playing the game, the bottom of the box doubles as a tavern table, with extra food cards for those who lose their bids.

Cinema is an unpublished game by Sid Sackson. The Eagle-Gryphon team analyzed and developed the current rules of the game to bring Cinema to life. Dig Site was originally published as Corner by Ravensburger Games in Germany in 1974. It has been unavailable for decades until now. This new edition has an archaeological theme with updated rules for 4 players. Bowling Solitaire first appeared in Sid's book 'A Gamut of Games'. Originally published in 1969, this book was long a classic work on the subject of game design. I'm the Boss: The Dice Game and Banana Blitz are two games that the Eagle-Gryphon team found while digging through Sid's prototypes and his diary entries about his best games that had never been published. The name and gameplay of Banana Blitz comes from Sid's notes: exactly as they are written. The original name for 'I'm the Boss: The Dice Game' was 'Deal me in'. The original game almost felt like a finished project when Sid left it in 1981. His meticulous notes and calculations in his diary allowed us to recreate the gameplay as Sid intended. We took some liberties in modernizing the artistic design of both games, but we are confident that Sid would have approved of the end result, which we are proud to present. Scope was brought to Eagle-Gryphon's attention by game designer Joe Huber. Sid originally created this never-before-published large group game for a group at a veterans home in New York. Little has been added to Sid's original concept and rules for this game. In The Scarlet Pimpernel you help the Scarlet Pimpernel complete seven missions and save the innocent from the guillotine. No mission will be as important as the last, as you rescue the young Dauphin, heir to the French throne, by taking him to Vienna. As a member of the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel, you help carry out missions by securing the routes and locations, obtaining the required number of supporters and resources (horses, carts, papers and disguises), and filling the five mission spaces. This task is done by placing your cubes in different locations on the board to score points. Although players work together to complete missions, only the player with the highest score at the end of the game becomes Scarlet Pimpernel's most trusted advisor.
